Save the Earth and Save Money at The Same Time

Saving the earth is an extremely important issues these days. It seems that global warming may be causing some polar ice caps to melt, more severe hurricanes to occur, and generally some harsher weather.  We know that because of the way we have treated our environment, some animals are becoming extinct, others are just dying, and still others live in unhealthy environments. However, part of them problem is that trying to be greener and live better for the environment often costs more money than it does to hurt or harm the environment. So what can we do to save the earth and save money at the same time? Well there are a few things that we can do to help out that don’t cost us anything extra.

Number 1: Recycle. Recycling is absolutely free. All you need is a recycling bend, which most neighborhoods, cities, and municipalities are beginning to provide to citizens for free. Now the next thing you do is throw everything that is recyclable into that bend. This includes paper products like your newspaper, scratch paper, old bills, etc..; plastics like your water bottles, soda bottles, product packages; and glass products. When recycle day rolls around, similar to trash day, simply place your recycling bend in the front of your yard for pick up. If you do not own a recycling bend, then try and find a recycling center near your house or on your route to work or school.

Number 2: Support companies that are going green. Companies that are going green are trying to support and save the environment, but in order for them to stay in business and continue supporting the environment, they have to make money. By supporting them and not other business that aren’t green, we will gradually force everybody to become green. Companies like Fat Cow web hosting use green wind energy to power all of their effors. If you visit FatCow.com you will be better able to see and understand what it is that they do. Thanks to people like T-Boone Pickens, environmentally friendly energy is here and here to stay.

Number 3: Use cloth bags at the grocery store. Instead of always taking plastic bags from the grocery store to carry your food home in, bring your own cloth bags. Typically referred to as magazine bags, these bags are heavy duty, sturdy, and are reusable. You can purchase some from your local dollar store, or you probably already have some in your closet from a school fundraiser or conference that you went to. If everyone does this, grocery stores would no longer invest in carrying these bags, which would keep them from being produced. They are damaging to our environment and usually are dumped into the ocean.

So now that you have been given a few things to do to save the environment, you can see that none of these items are expensive or difficult to do.  They still allow you to keep money in the bank and keep our environment healthy; and you can’t beat that with a stick!
